Akron Walks for Autism
A Walk and 5K Run to Benefit the Autism Society of Ohio, Greater Akron

Lock 3, Downtown Akron
Last year, more than 1,100 people gathered at Lock 3 in downtown Akron to support Akron Walks for Autism, a walk and 5k run to benefit the Autism Society Greater Akron (now the Autism Society of Ohio, Greater Akron Office). Also part of this amazing event was an Autism Vendor Fair, where 40 leading companies and organizations showcased products, services, and information related to autism and other disabilities.
Please accept this letter on behalf of the Autism Society of Ohio, Greater Akron Office as a request for sponsorship for this year’s Walk/Run. Your sponsorship will contribute to our goal of raising funds to support children and adults with Autism and their families. All donations are tax deductible under 501c3 Tax # 34-1694514.
This special event builds the community and raises awareness of the day-to-day challenges faced by people with autism and those who love them. All money raised provides services and support to local families. The Autism Society of Ohio, Greater Akron is part of the Autism Society, a national organization with a chapter network that focuses on bringing services and support to local individuals and families impacted by autism. The Greater Akron office serves Summit, Stark, Medina, Portage and Wayne counties.
What we do…

Information and Referral: Support individuals and their families with information on community services and programs;

Programs: Bring needed programs to our local area that support our mission;

Educational Outreach: Provide support materials to schools and organizations about how best to support those with autism;

Awareness: Raise awareness of autism in the community by educating on what it means to have autism and how to best support the autism community;

Improve Services and Supports: Advocate for changes at the federal, state and local levels to ensure individuals with autism are supported across their lifespans;
-
Team Members: Collaborate with organizations with like missions to work together to provide the best possible outcomes and services.

Bonus: Sponsorship on all materials – including website, t-shirt, marketing flyers – for Lose the Training Wheels (LTTW), a summer bike camp that teaches children with disabilities to ride a bike. LTTW is a one week camp that touches 40 children, their families, 50+ volunteers in a way that will forever change their lives. Campers receive a trophy and t-shirt.
